The Learning Tribe
An animated YouTube series that celebrates children’s different abilities and makes inclusion part of the story.
Stories children can see themselves in.
The Learning Tribe is a cartoon series about inclusion, created to celebrate children’s different abilities through characters and stories they can relate to.
The series introduces topics including autism, epilepsy, Down syndrome, ADHD, deafness and physical disabilities. Its focus is on helping children learn about different experiences while recognising what they share: friendship, curiosity and the opportunity to take part.
Illustration, animation and branding.
My role on The Learning Tribe covered illustration, animation and branding design, bringing together the series’ visual identity, artwork and moving image presentation.
Putting belonging at the centre.
Animation provides a familiar setting for children to explore differences. Rather than relying on abstract explanations, the series presents inclusion through relatable cartoon stories.
The creative purpose is to celebrate each child as an individual and encourage understanding of different abilities and experiences. Inclusion becomes something children can recognise in how characters connect and participate.
Different experiences. A place for everyone.
The series uses these topics to open conversations about inclusion and different abilities, with a format intended for children.
Meet the characters. See the identity.
The artwork brings together the series’ cast, colourful logo treatments and episode graphics.
